It's generally a thing in the Earth planet, yes.
Bottled water can have a higher concentration of minerals, and it's necessary in Brazil, were you can't drink from the tap.
That said, it's not that expensive, and the ones wich are 'luxury bottled water" usually have way more to do with marking and packing than quality.
That's why a tacky person would be obviously so happy to flush it down the toilet.
