How much of Sao Paulo and Rio are decently safe for a white American guy? As in, I probably won't get mugged if I mind my own buisiness while walking around at night?

Brazil looks cool, it's just hard to tell what's meme and what's cream about how dangerous it is. Of course, i'd also love to enjoy the nature if I traveled to Brazil someday.

I don't care about standing out as white to be cool, I just don't want to be seen as a target. Also I'm not some pale aryan giant or anything, I'm average height, kinda tan (I live in Florida), and have straight, dark hair and blue eyes. I don't think I look too different from the typical white Brazilian.
