In the US the "standard accent" is the Midwestern accent, even though the Midwest is neither the cultural or economic center of our country.

Here in the Netherlands the standard dialect is from Haarlem, a city near Amsterdam. (Yes, the namesake of Harlem in new York).
I'm in the "Val" zone.
While I'm sure many people here can put on a Valley/surfer accent if they want to, I think it would be cool for some fresh surveys to be done on the accent(s) actually used here.

"Innernational" is common here, but fully pronouncing the t isn't unheard of, unlike such things as "water".

The difference between New Orleans and a place like Lafayette is significant enough. The "Cajun" accent isn't really a thing here.
