Japanese is a very difficult language to learn. It has three alphabets, and one of those three alphabets literally has 10,000+ characters to memorize

On top of that, there is only one country that speaks Japanese, so obviously people learning Japanese would feel like moving to Japan would be the only way to actually use the language they learned

They just use 3 additional texts, the book of Mormon (more Jesus legends that happen in South America rather than the Middle East), the Pearl of Great Price, (an extra book of Abraham for the old testament and an "updated" version of the book of Matthew), and the Doctrine & Covenants (a lifestyle guide promoting healthy living, strong family values, godly virtues, etc)

I agree to a degree, although I'd say they all can fulfil similar needs and, hence, can be seen as belonging to the same wider phenomenon.
