There was an attempted assassination on Prime Minister Harold Holt. The assassin climbed into a tree and fired into his office window, narrowly missing Holt's head.

Holt would later on go to the beach with his wife and have a swim. He was lost at sea and his body was never recovered.

For some reason people thought it was a good idea to name a public pool after him. The 'Harold Holt Swim Centre' is in suburban Melbourne.
