How long ago have you been studying? Do you like what you're studying? Would you recommend to study that?

>18 years-old
> Next year i'm starting law
> A six year career
>>
>Studying telematics
>1 Year
>Sure I like it
>Sure why not
>>
I graduated 2 years ago studying biochemistry

I liked it a lot and would recommend it to someone who isn't stupid or lazy.
>>
Computer Science. (not a washed down no math degree but actual CS)

>How long ago have you been studying?
It's my 8 semester plus working in the relevant industry part-time
>Do you like what you're studying?
It's alright.
>Would you recommend to study that?
Depends. If you want a comfy industry job for programming I would say get a portfolio and apply with that. Uni is not necessary for programming. If you want the paper and eventually wanna work in research it's another story. But like everything else, the paper is not enough. Expertise + experience > degree.
Getting for computer science in debt is IMO not a clever move.

And what do you do now?

I have a bachelor's degree in political science. Now I work as an electrician.

slacked in HS so im doing a 1 year general college program that will essentially allow me to step into university
doin pretty good, probably 85 average at the lowest
then going for a Bachelor's in Education and a Master's in History, will be able to teach up to the college level

there's a surprising amount of foreign work placements for commonwealth nations so im pretty excited ngl
>>
Computer engineering specialized in soft dev
Finishing my third semester
>Do you like what you're studying?
Yeah, I love software development but hate networks and IT, I initially wanted mechatronics but got discouraged when I found out the study plan was basically industrial engineering with some mechanics workshops thrown in there.
>Would you recommend to study that?
It's not really my coup of tea, so I talked to my parents and they agreed in paying me several minors and private certifications in order to grow my curriculum.

I did an undergrad in Economics, then a master in Finance. It's been 6 years now, so Im in my final years.

I really loved economics and Finance is kinda okeish interest wise.
The career opportunity are great as long as you are in a competitive program but the job itself (boring, and pointless) and the long hours are a bit of a disappointment.

I think you should something with job wich are really interessing like CS or cuting edge engineering if you are smart and hard-working.

The jobs are far more entertaining -than business or law related work, to be frank.

Overall I would advice you to do something you like with an intersting job outlook at the end or you will either fail or end up doing something you hate.

>Finishing my degree in Economics
>I'm only missing my final thesis and 1 subject.

Sincerely, i'm fucking tired of it all. I wouldn't recommend it, go for accounting or bussiness, far easier and with a bigger job pool.

Economics is liberal arts-tier. It isn't a science, economists just cherry pick data to back up their own political biases.

how do you expand your portfolio while still being trapped 16 hours a day in campus?
I'll apply for my OCA in java SE 8 next semester, I think is time to make some juice out of the shit I've learned by now

Internships, summer jobs, uni-projects, weekends, breaks, ...

I really doubt that most students are really studying 16 hours/day. I mean, I work part-time 20 hours/week and doing a fulltime University course load and still have time to fuck my girlfriend and enjoy some freetime.

So basically - just doing it. Good Github account, some references from companies and you're in. But I would assume finding jobs in Mexico while being enrolled as a student is kind of difficult. Atleast in Germany companies are sucking your dick even when you just know technologies rudimentary.
>>
I'm in law school. I'm reaching my mid-20s and I've been studying my entire life.

I don't like law school as the subject matter no longer interests me and I have no interest in a career in law. First year crim or torts were interesting, but you passion dissipates over the course of the degree. And you'll be regretting your decision once you take specialized commercial law classes and pontificate over what becomes of a contract when a vendor delivers a shipment of grain slightly early.

I recommend against going to law school. I would bet that the majority of upper-year students (even the majority of students who have jobs lined up) would say the same. Before you decide to go, do yourself a massive favour and take some time to research what the jobs actually entail at a day-to-day level. Watching sitcoms doesn't count. Hearing cool stories from lawyer family friends doesn't count. Look at what you do from 5am to 11am. And understand that the work will only get worse as firms continue to look for efficiencies as the billable hour gets phased out. Don't just be enticed by the perks and false sense of prestige.
>>
First year of law school (out of five)

Tomorrow I have 2 (two) exams and I barely studied for one and neglected the other one

I need 2.5/7 to pass one
and 3.5/7 to pass the other
Yet I still feel I'm fucked

So far I like what I'm studying and would recommed it if you can into systematic studying

Web design.
Today was my last day. Last friday I went to take a test, but a power outage occurred so I couldn't finish the test. It was an Operative Systems II test, we are working with fedora 14 (network, apache, ftp, etc). Today I went to take the same test, I passed with 9,5.It was easy.

Bruh I went to school with tons of people older than you. Like people in their 30's and up with full families.

Most of them went to school part time but they were doing it. As I remember they were also some of the best students as they're more responsible/serious about their education than your average 19/20 year old.

Lawschool, it's only four and a half years here. Though I guess it's six if you're slow or something.

I'm digging it because I'm a lazy fuck who never studies and get by on wit alone. No better feeling than not reading a single word of the assignment yet B:ing everyone TFO anyway.

Too many people default on the loans, if the interest rate was lower they would have to deny more people

so the producers of our country are effectively paying a tax anyway
>>
>>68337046
You're baiting.

Why couldn't you go to a CC first?

Why couldn't you go to a state school afterwards?

How did you not qualify for any kind of aid?
>>
All public funding to liberal arts and pure science programs should be cut immediately. This includes loans.

>>68337300
I didn't go to CC because I did all the required courses during high school.

I went to a in state school.

I got a few scholarships to pay for books otherwise I had to pay full for my tution.

>I really doubt that most students are really studying 16 hours/day.
I don't but I'm in campus 16 hours a day, 5 days a week because my classes are so spread out and basically because I hate being in my apartment.
It's not that difficult to find job opportunities, but not a single company will care if you're a student or not. They'll absorb every single moment you either have or not, so I'm scared of becoming greedy and start working before learning enough.
I just want to expand my portfolio, maybe working via internet or developing consumer programs in my free time, but tbqh I don't know if either of those things will bring me more attention

Energy and environmental engineering.

I studied that too but it has very little effect on what I'm doing now in finance, specialising in the financial markets, trading etc. You need to be very cunning to get ahead, not evil though.

pls tell me more, I changed my major to EE after I realized I hated CS
Id love to be involved in medicine though
>>
>>68340040
Not him, but I'm an electrical engineer. I got a sick ass job too.

CS to EE is gonna be tough. I know a few dudes who did CS who wouldn't be able to handle EE. But maybe Aussie and U.S. courses are different?

If you want to into the medicine field with EE, all you'll end up doing is maintenance on equipment.
>>
>>68339500
Well my CE focuses on the software part mainly with a few hardware courses, it's pretty much CS with a few engineering courses like math, physics and economics. The job market in Finland is shit for every one and the salaries are really low
>>
