> Favourite French wine?
OP here. Burgundy is for boys, Bordeaux is for broads, Rhone is for the rugged.
What ? Grape variety, brand or region ?
>>68298966
Region, you dumbass.
Why the fuck else would I post a picture of wine regions.
Also, most regions are known for their varietals. Bordeaux is Cab-Sav/Merlot, Burgundy is Pinot Noir and Gamay, Rhone is Syrah, et cetera.
We're talking red wine, of course.
>>68298927
So far Bordeaux and Mont Redon are the best that i tasted.
>>68298993
Fuck off you leaf cunt
I don't drink wine, since I'm a straight male.
But I love armagnac.
>>68298997
Bordeaux is pretty much the standard.
They produce more wine than any other region, and they provide the most value for money.
>>68299059
I thought it was obvious. I didn't realise I was dealing with dumbasses.
Regions are know for grape varieties and grape varieties are known by producer, so all three tie in together. So if you say you like X region, you also indicate varietal and you can specify the brand.
>>68299115
>since I'm a straight male
Get a load of this wanker
I don't know much about wine but I like Syrah
I tend to drink gin and beer
>>68299136
>Get a load of this wanker
Your mum did it, and you happened.
>>68299115
>not drinking red dry wine
fucking towelheads
>>68299205
>drinking women alcohol
I disown you.
>>68299134
I think it's cute that someone from the land of Kraft dinners and clubbing baby seals pretends to show some sophistication.
Anyway, to answer your question, I dont have a preference. I almost never buy wines from France since Australian and NZ wines are more familiar.
>>68299226
>muslim understanding of alcoholic drinks
Inb4 b-but i-im an atheist!
wine is for women, wogs and gays
>>68299293
Yeah, an atheist, rehabilitated alcoholic and owner of perhaps the best collection of fine drinks in the region.
So yeah, faggot, I know of alcohol far better than you.
>>68299367
*tips*
>>68299226
> dry red wine
> women
A lot of chicks drink wine, but they drink the sweet shit.
>>68299240
It's not sophistication, it's just good taste.
> I almost never buy wines from France since Australian and NZ wines are more familiar.
I actually got into French wine in particular because they're much more established and understandable than New World wines. The regions have simply existed longer and have built up a better reputation.
Same with Spain and Italy, although Anglo countries lean much more strongly towards French wine.
Also, I have to say, California is magnificent. American wine is actually some of the best in the world.
>>68298927

Champagne
>>68299383
Indeed, m8.
>>68299474
Here they mostly drink thick red one, fuck knows how it's called. Tastes sour and doesen't mix with water.
>>68299527
>doesen't mix with water.
Wat
>>68299585
If you pour it into water, it sinks and stays at the bottom.
>>68299527
I think that's just yak's blood.
Red wine mixes with water and usually isn't sour.
>>68299621
Why would you ever mix wine with water?
>>68299644
Women mix it, add a few more things and use it to wash hair. They say it makes them thicker.
Fuck knows tho, I never mixed any alcohol with water, aside from morus moonshine.
>>68299680
>and use it to wash hair
Just 3rd world things I guess.
>>68299680
> Women mix it, add a few more things and use it to wash hair.
Nothing you've described about this sounds like wine.
It sounds like you're talking about shampoo.
>>68299731
Nah, m8. It's wine. I think I can tell it when it's writte "wine" on the bottle and it has and excise stamp.
I like sugary wines because i'm a faggot
Gewurztraminer is pretty gud
how is it Lafite Rotschild? It's a meme wine or actually good?
>>68299907
>Lafite
Sounds too expensive for 4channers it does
>>68299934
>mfw I have a bottle of courvoisier lespirit
Every time I want to open it and drink I think of how it would be if it's not that good, so I put the bottle back in shelf.
loire & rhone look nice on the map
>>68298927
Chilean wine
>>68298949
Meeh Burgundy are top quality.
>>68298927
Italian wine > French wine
>>68300500
Non.
>>68300500
Next you're gonna tell us your "cheese" is better than ours
Have only really had Australian wines, but I'd like to branch out into some old world wines.
What would you Frenchies recommend for someone that likes his Margaret River and Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignons?
Yeah Bordeaux, but which ones are gud?
actually like a nice light but peppery beaujolais, gives some nice contrast from >>68300568
I don't like wine
>>68300680
YOU DON'T LIKE WINE

>>68300633
Hmm Dan Murphys has a few from there at the $10-20 mark. I'll pick up a couple and give them a go.
Thanks mate.

-Hermitage
australian wine cap triggers me
but it tastes OK, really
>>68300769
There is a reason why a good amount of Shiraz and Shiraz blends from this country used to be called Hermitage, >>68300568
should take note
>>68300787
Stelvin is the future, oaklet
>>68300568
is price an issue?
and would you have it shipped to Australia?
because it won't be the same.
we always say, never bring the wine south
>>68300875
That's a big box
>>68300861
>is price an issue?
Well I can get pretty damn good wine here for $20 a bottle so...
>>68300769
>>68300817
M. Chapoutier Côtes-du-Rhône Grenache Syrah 2014
Worth a try?
>>68300882
Pour toi
>>68300948
>Unfamiliar wine
>Worth a try?
You are not a real Australian
>>68301003
Fair point mate.
>>68300948
Totally, M.Chapoutier makes great wines.
>>68300890
have you heard of Mouton Cadet?
use it as a reference, that's 10€ bordeaux wine which is really good for normal occations.
if you'd spend 30€ euros on a bottle, that's reasonable for a really good wine, higher than that is just fancy in my book.
>>68298927
Muslims don't drink wine, but they'll drink depleted uranium water.
>>68301028
Mouton Cadet is what I'm drinking right now.
Thank God for the Rothschilds and their hegemony.
>>68301022
>>68301028
Cool. M.Chapoutier and Mouton Cadet added to the shopping list for next time I go to the bottleo.
>>68301046
If you were actually refined enough to know wine you would have other stuff to say than some shitty dead-horse joke
>>68301183
what do you aussie have while drinking wine?
in my region, bucnh of cheese and jambon is a must
>>68301188
Whatever you say Muhammad Jacques Akbar

What is it with Americans pretending wine is a girl drink when they drink light beer all the time?
>>68301235
Generally I'll have wine with dinner or just on its own. Sometimes with cheese but not always.
I had pic related tonight with lasagna and it was really nice.
>>68301430
>aged in a whisky barrel
Interesting
>>68301453
I hadn't had it before tonight but it was recommended by people at my work.
The aging added a nice rich smoothness to it. I'd definitely recommend it if you can get it.
>>68301545
I believe that the inside of whisky barrels are burnt before being filled, I guess it must give an elegant musky taste. Just bought some bottles
>>68301658
Hope you enjoy them.
>>68299527
>Tastes sour and doesen't mix with water.
I bet it is some EU funded red wine shit imported from the Balkans.
