Dear diary, I hope I won't jinx anything, but it looks... well, it looks like after about two years of no luck, I just won't get a job offer.

I'm getting three.

What the fuck, like seriously.

1)
+ family-ish, casual atmosphere, friendly coworkers, work I am good at, great commute
-/+ the work is just a bit repetitive, but not overly time consuming or hard
- not particularly great chances of advancement, 26k pay with probably not that much room for improvement either

2)
+ huge international company, would look impressive on my CV, 28-30k starting pay, will probably get fairly higher fairly fast, loads of potential training etc.
-/+ work I am not really that familiar with (and while I am confident I can learn as I am not retarded, it is a bit daunting)
- awful commute (like 10 minutes versus 45 minutes), literally the other side of Prague, could not be farther away; probably a much more strict, corporate environment; somewhat annoying hours (start late-ish, end later)

3)
+ 27-28k starting, though I suspect a smaller chance at getting a quick-ish raise than in case of no. 2; similar bonuses as no. 2 - a big name, big clients, training opportunities, but also a more relaxed atmosphere
- a mix of the previous two in terms of repetitive work that will also be a bit challenging and at least partially unknown to me

Professionally, I feel as if number 2 would be the best choice. It is a bit daunting in terms of the corporate environment and the work I would do, but I'm not completely autistic and I am fairly confident I can learn (and they are willing to teach me).

However, on a more personal level, I am really leaning towards number 1. It is just a good fit. But it's got worse pay, there isn't as much potential for growth in there. But I wouldn't spend 90 minutes every day just getting to work.

3 is "in between" basically. Closer to no. 2 (better commute, too) but less daunting.

I kinda wish I have jinxed it and all but one will cancel it at the last minute.

however if it was me and it was solely how you described, I would pick corporate over everything else because you need to look further into the future than usual. You need to consider that you won't work this job for more than 5 years and that you will need something else eventually. So which one would suit you the best in this case? I would personally pick the corporate job, because in case you drop it or lose it, it will only help you in the future. Telling in your CV that you have worked for this big name + you had to learn these things which you were previously unfamiliar with. Way I see it, only positives come out from the negatives you listed. But I only think of it here as a stepping stone, like you wouldn't keep the job for long.

Maybe my description reads that way but in terms of work, 1 is more fun and a bit easier, while 2 is more... challenging but also potentially rewarding. In terms of work environment 1 is fantastic, while 3 is more relaxed than 2 but still very much the usual corporate stuff, open space, job tickets, meetings etc. There isn't an area where no. 3 would excel. That's a really big difference of money, so yeah you will have to take that into consideration a lot. I mean, it would make around half of my salary. I will tell you what my brother had to go through, take from it what you will. His mother died maybe year ago and left the flat to him, he was her only child. What I mean to tell is that he went there completely without any knowledge of it, at all because he had to survive. Now he makes more money than me by quite a margin, maybe 30-50% more. That company is on the other side of the city, maybe more than hour away on foot. He has plenty of money to pay for flat and even to keep for himself, yet he works overtime and on weekends to make even more money. I told him to stop doing it, that it will feel when he gets old and that he has enough money as it is and he told me he spends 40 € a month alone on transport to that place.

So the question is, do you need that kind of money to live comfortably or not? Will you want to spoil yourself with fresh fruits, games and whatnot? How much will you spend on transport from that additional money and how will it affect your mental well being? If I was earning average wage (I am assuming 28-30K is average in CZ) in Vilnius, I think I would be okay, but I wouldn't be able to travel too much abroad or anything. So it really depends on all that stuff.

Especially on that environment. Would I exchange my 380 € office job where I sit for 8 hours a day, shitposting as much as I want to 500 € metal cutting machinery operator job where you will probably have to be focused whole day and also work on weekends and sometimes 12 hours? I have lived here with parents whole time, I just got used to showering completely under cold water everyday, even when it's -20 in the winter.

I used to be intern in retail shop of household appliances (refrigerators, ovens etc.) and owners (husband and wife) were always keen to mock someone else. One time they told me I stink and asked if I don't shower at home or something. That day I cried a lot when no one saw and then decided I have to get used to it somehow. So I just stepped into the bath and started pouring it. First few times I panicked and after few months my body got used to it. Just can't still wash the back even after more than a year because lungs and whole chest get paralyzed every time.

Last time I had hot shower now was couple of days ago when I was in Vilnius and it was unusual and somehow even hard for body to get used to. When I had hot shower around week ago at my brother's place I had to turn back on cold water again because I couldn't take the warmth anymore and return to my routine.

Yeah, my cold resistance is pretty high too if I compare it to others. It is also pretty healthy, you save time and even money on bill if you need to.
Only downside is you can't get that cold water during the summer since the pipes are not freezing.
