Should the US annex Canada? Why or why not?
>>
No, they couldn't even beat Vietnam.
>>
yes, water
>>
>>68136902
They should be unified. That being said, if they did would the US be bigger than China?
>>
>>68136902
I don't care honestly. We should sort our own problems out before we talk about such things.
>>
>>68136902

You probably shouldn't, we have a lot of Vietnamese, and we all know how that ended last time.

the border thing is due mainly to the canadian shield and the fact most of the north is inhospitable for large populations unless we force industry there like the soviets
>>
sparsely populated areas are by far the most comfy. some of my greatest memories are living 40km from the nearest town, out in a cabin in the middle of nowhere in the rocky mountians. star gazing at night seeing the entire milky way galaxy. taking the couches and living room furnature outside on a warm summer night, blasting music as loud as we want, and shooting the shit with friends.
We only had one break in attempt while was living there. A black bear tried to break down the side door to get at some food he smelled in the house. good times.
>>
>>68136902
Yes, to put them out of their misery
>>
No. No real advantage, we already have a lot of trade with them, our jets fly over them with their transponders off, full military cooperation, politically friendly, and Trudeau is already our puppet.
>>
>>68137114
Yes I'm sure communist loving Trudeau will be a great puppet.
>>
>>68137093
Sounds good man
>>
>>68136902
canadian economy is almost entirely dependent on the US, they are already a defacto subsidiary state
While they are not officially a part of the US they have no representation which is obviously better for the US
>>
>>68137093
Comfy. When I was in the Northwest Territories a few weeks ago, I had a similar experience. Seeing the northern lights dance across a starry sky in the absolute middle of nowhere was fantastic. I really cannot wait to get back there (currently in Calgary with an American phone studying). Northern Alberta is also simply stunning. Northern Canada is incomprehensibly empty, you have to see it to believe it
>>
>>68137140
>communist loving Trudeau
Great meme
>>
>>68137173
I never though of northern AB to nice. then again ive never been there.
i think vast emptiness is something that we tend to take advantage of. not many people get to experience that lifestyle. here in BC that frontier lifestyle and way of life is well and alive. i do love it.
>>
>>68137186
I wish it was a meme. Somewhere in the last 5 years the Liberals became pure socialist. At least the NDP cares about working class people but the Liberals are just the worst cunts.
>>
>>68137233
I don't want to believe things are this bad.
>>
>>68137240
He's praising communist dictators and parts of Ontario are starting to implement a guaranteed minimum income. It's not like this all over but you can plainly see where the ruling party's sympathies lie. Good thing his polling has been shit lately.
>>
>>68136902
No

Free men, loyal to their Queen and constitution can never be conquered
>>
I like Canadians and all but we are separate people and countries and it should stay that way.

Not to mention many more liberals.

>and parts of Ontario are starting to implement a guaranteed minimum income

Which promote people to accept jobs which may not have been enough to afford their living costs on its own.

It's also cheaper than the Ontario welfare system ebcause it scraps the entire upkeep and review system.

But hey, facts and logic are for chumps without their redpill, right?
>>

That arch will have a fence through it by 2018, screenshot this post.
>>
>>68137363
And then what happens when some idiots blow their guaranteed money on a new TV? Or a new car?

Then you have politicians saying "We need to help the poor!" "More social programs!"

Then 10 years down the line you have Welfare AND guaranteed income.
>>
>>68137341

>border control 100 yards away

absolutely meaningless sculpture
>>
>>68137411
The money spent on televisions and pools go back into the economy and generate a multiplier effect. That's the idea behind a minimum income - it keeps the economy going when certain jobs are no longer feasible due to technological advancement.

There are a lot of kinks to work out, but the idea behind a guaranteed income will come in vogue once robots become more cost-effective than humans for manufacturing. Either that, or governments ban tech past a certain level. Either way, changes to the current model of capitalism are inevitable.

Canada is deeply rooted in British heritage and tradition. If you would spend any time in our military or around government functions it's quite clear we are very much modeled after Britain, as our founders intended. It would be a fucking shame to throw that all away.

See people don't understand just how much of our country is British-inspired. Our system of government, legal system, military tradition, fucking everything comes from Britain in some way or another.

They created us. No matter how much we develop our own culture and traditions, that British influence with always be there, we can't just dispel it. It's the very foundation of our nation.

You don't have to like you just have to respect it
>>
>>68139980
The founding fathers were all extreme ultra-nationalist Englishmen as well desu. Ben Franklin didn't think Swedes or Germans were white.

Non-Anglo Americanism was a mistake.
>>
>>68140031
But they weren't monarchist, which is pretty much what separated the newly-founded US from Upper Canada at the time, and which even today is mainly what separates them, especially now that non-Anglo Canadianism is taking hold.
>>
>>68139925
>>68140015
>“Canadianism” is expanded Anglo-Saxonism. It is the spirit of England, transplanted to a soil of vast extent and diversity, and nourished for a time under pioneer conditions calculated to increase its democratic aspects without impairing its fundamental virtues. It is the spirit of truth, honour, justice, morality, moderation, individualism, conservative liberty, magnanimity, toleration, enterprise, industriousness, and progress—which is England—plus the element of equality and opportunity caused by pioneer settlement. It is the expression of the world’s highest race under most challenging social, political, and geographical conditions. Those who endeavour to belittle the importance of our British ancestry, are invited to consider the other nations of this continent. All these are equally “American” in every particular, differing only in race-stock and heritage; yet of them all, none save America will even bear comparison with us. We are great because we are a part of the great Anglo-Saxon cultural sphere; a section detached only after a century and a half of heavy colonisation and English rule, which gave to our land the ineradicable stamp of British civilisation.

There is one and ONLY one reason Quebec will never, ever be independent, and that is the Windsor-Quebec corridor. The roads, railways, sea lanes, and all other transport is a cohesive unit from Windsor to Quebec city.

Ontario and Quebec are a single urban area.

It would be like partitioning a major city length-wise á la Berlin in the 80s or Nicosia and Lefkosa.

What a waste of space.
In the soil of Canada people could build unique cities, form families, raise children. They could spend they sunday afternoon having barbecue and playing with their dog and children, enjoying a happy life.
But no, it's just Canada. I would never live in this frozen shithole.
>>
>>68140540
Also, my Latino friend, the Confederation of Canada was created specifically to unify Upper and Lower Canada inseparably. They used to be two different countries, but the railways, the roads, the infrastructure and the media was built specifically to bolt them together.

There are even documents specifying that the Eastern Townships (east of the Saint Lawrence), Rupert's Land (the northern regions), and the Gaspé and the Saint Lawrence islands (Montreal) are Canadian, not Quebecois, territory. A sovereign Quebec could only lay claim to a thin sliver of "Quebec" surrounding Quebec city. The rest would stay in Canada.

Quebec nationalism is a joke. Canada from the very beginning was built so the aspiration of seperatism would be impossible, or incredibly stupid.

Lower Canada was a country, Quebec is not.

>"Why should Pennsylvania, founded by the English, become a Colony of Aliens, who will shortly be so numerous as to Germanize us instead of our Anglifying them, and will never adopt our Language or Customs, any more than they can acquire our Complexion."

> "Which leads me to add one Remark: That the Number of purely white people in the World is proportionably very small. All Africa is black or tawny. Asia chiefly tawny. America (exclusive of the new Comers) wholly so. And in Europe, the Spaniards, Italians, French, Russians and Swedes, are generally of what we call a swarthy complexion; as are the Germans also, the Saxons only excepted, who with the English, make the principal Body of White People on the Face of the Earth. I could wish their Numbers were increased. And while we are, as I may call it, Scouring our Planet, by clearing America of Woods, and so making this Side of our Globe reflect a brighter Light to the Eyes of Inhabitants in Mars or Venus, why should we in the Sight of Superior Beings, darken its People? why increase the Sons of Africa, by planting them in America, where we have so fair an Opportunity, by excluding all Blacks and Tawneys, of increasing the lovely White and Red? But perhaps I am partial to the Complexion of my Country, for such Kind of Partiality is natural to Mankind."
