We just have little to work with, is the problem.

We're also not very good at mobilising the money to stimulate our economy, mostly because we had some pretty tough times, so we sort of hoard the money instead of investing it.

We are poor because we are a small, nation in the edge of Europe, we never had enough resources or population to thrive our sole and much more powerfull neighbour limited completely our international influence and when we had our chance of developing the country like the rest of Western Europe did during the colonial era, we fucked up in churches, and fancy stuff.
Then in the early XX we were part of a far-right dictatorship which didn't help, and after we joined the E.U we got so many loans that we thought we were suddenly rich and wasted it in welfare instead of investing in economy.
Now-a-days due to the unemployment most skilled people just imigrate to somewhere else and we only get the old and less educated.
