Went to Punta Cana in 2006. It's mostly black with plenty of mulattos and straight natives, as well as Haitians, Jamaicans, and other islanders living/working there.

If you flip it around to peoples that are 90-95% West African rest European (like Haitians, heck even take the "only" 80% SSA Murriblacks), you don't see any Euro influence in them at all, they could all pass as natives on the West African coast easily (parade example of that actually happening: the nation of Liberia)
