There's nothing the Cyrillic alphabet can do that the roman alphabet can't, but the roman alphabet has much more versatility and can do things that the Cyrillic can't
Latin is in wider use so it's more familiar but Cyrillic seems to flow better.
Also it's quite up to the language and what sounds are more common.
In Serbia letters Ћ and Ч are so different that I never had problem to tell them apart while in Croatia possibly due to them being similarly writtesn as Ć and Č they are oftenly mixed-up, to an extend that some Croatians even don't know that these are actually two letters (e.g. Slovenians).
Cyrillic is also written very differently in hand writting than it is in print, adding to it's beauty, but also confusion.
