If they're homemade they taste however you want them to taste. Seasoned beef, lettuce, cheese, and taco sauce usually. Or you could use chicken, salsa, and sour cream. Whatever you want.

Hard tortillas are tostadas and they are supposed to be tostadas, a taco is made with a soft tortilla it can be small in a taqueria or normal size one in any other meal or with tacos de guisado.

Usually some sort of chicken or pork in a corn tortilla with tomatos, queso fresco, and avocado. They're alright, I prefer sandwiches more.
