Traveling to Chechnya is actually safe. Even the rural areas. Most rebels left the country (to Dagestan, Syria, Iraq). And they don't have any interest in attacking tourists.

Assad is backed up by Putin. So fighting Assad means fighting Putin. They can't fight Putin in Chechnya because Kadyrov punishes the whole family for fighting.
And also religious motives. Sunnis being oppressed
