Highways, streets, and vial infrastructure in general. How do they look in your country?
You may post pics or videos.
>Pic related is road in my country.
Here's the main highway in the South Pacific nation of Tuvalu:

Cool to see what infrastructure looks like in these tiny island nations. It looks like it is meant for a golf car.
Nothing special
This is the Marquam Bridge, a major freeway bridge in Portland, Oregon. The design is pretty old, and it causes a lot of traffic jams.
3 in 1: car bridge, metro bridge and metro station
famous because was rebuild
>>67807184
This looks cool.
>>67807234
its a bit monstrous, other metrobridges look nicer, but they don't have stantions on them
>>67805037
This is the Capital Beltway ring road around Washington D.C.
It's easily the worst highway in the country due to construction and traffic that exists all day.
>>67807395
EU money well spend
they look like roads
>>67805037
looks awesome
here it's africa tier

That looks über comfy

Bridge near my house. I live in SC and it's a mixed bag, we have a lot of new construction and the old worn out shit in the poor areas.
they also look like streets
It's pretty good, driving in Santiago's highways in the night is an absolute pleasure.
>>67807644
Unless there's more traffic there is no need for a wider road. A well maintained 2-lane road beats a shitty divided 4-lane road.
>>67807540
why is it elevated?
>>67807644
THIS is Africa-tier. You can't even use those roads during the rainy season because they turn into mud.
>>67807809
you must spend shitload of money from EU, its sometimes hard
thats why we have now metro which ends in fields, lookouts in wallies etc.
>>67807800
that's until winter starts and dickheads start killing themselves on the road
>>67807644
Looks g8. Not Africa tier at all.
Also, nice mountain view.
>>67807896
metro in fields
>>67807923
our station looked like this in ~63
now its a clusterfuk
They do the job.
>>67807923
Underground? Really?
>>67808057
yeah
So do you have roundabouts already, have something better or are you still stubborn?

In mi city like this
I'm from the United States but living in India. I'll post a couple pictures from both countries.
Here's the highway I normally drive home on from university and work.

This is Downtown Detroit. Big roads, big buildings, and big crowds. Honestly, the whole Metro area has some great highways. The problem is, the closer to the city you get, the worse they start running in condition. You can tell that the place used to have amazing and state-of-the-art infrastructure several decades ago, but much of it is in ruin and disrepair now. Roads in the city of Detroit itself, outside of Downtown, remind me of Latin America. Not as crazy or dirty as those in India, but still littered with trash, deserted in the bad neighborhoods, and just all-around spooky.

Here's a road a few miles away from the city of Manali in Himachal Pradesh, India. Pavement was actually quite nice and easy to ride on. However, once you start getting up into the mountains, the driving becomes a nightmare. I took a day-trip to a hippie village called Kasol, which takes about four or five hours by road.
Road started out nice and got terrifying really quick. It turns into a bunch of sand and dirt, with a sheer drop down into a valley on one side of the road and a cliff on another.
My bike had really bad brakes, so it was scary.
>>67809350
And lastly, typical Delhi driving. Miserable congestion, unpredictable road conditions, and some of the dumbest drivers in the world.
Congestion is omnipresent and unavoidable. Nobody can manage to follow traffic laws or wait in line, so there are always lines of bikers hobbling along the sidewalk, trying to snake up pedestrian overpasses, and near rear-ending cars to just get a little farther ahead. Car drivers act like morons as well, and there are hardly any restrictions to who can be on the road. Seeing a Mercedes driving behind an ox-drawn cart isn't common. Tractors, semi-trucks, bicycles, horse-drawn carriages, wedding processions, beggars, and auto- and cycle-rickshaws all share the same road.
Since people here often have no common or civil sense, they blast their horns whenever traffic comes to a standstill. Even if nobody for as far as the eye can see is moving, they'll still honk and honk and honk like a bunch of fucking idiots.

>from the United States but living in India
to what end
>>67809433
Actually I'm just visiting for four months this time. I lived in Delhi for a year in the past, though.
Bit of a long story. I'm going home next Wednesday, though. Need to finish my degree. Plus, Modi's demonitization policy has made getting cash an absolute bitch. I'm sick of standing in line at ATMs for an hour every day. Nobody accepts my American-issued debit card except for McDonald's and Burger King.
>>67809322
>have one of the higher gas taxes in the nation (#18)
>spend less than any other state per capita on roads (#50)
michigan logic

That's the upside of being a /trv/fag - if you go to enough fucked-up, third-world places, home in a civilized country feels that much better. Roads in Michigan are an absolute dream compared to those in India.
Given, they still suck, even by American standards. Just easier to appreciate when you're gone for half the year every year.
Don't forget:
>shitty infrastructure
>economically depressed cities like Detroit, Flint, and Saginaw
>traditionally higher-than-average unemployment rates
>third highest car insurance premiums in the nation
Costs me fucking $130 per month to insure a fucking 2002 Jeep. I also have to pay $70 per month for a 500cc 2014 motorcycle, because somehow that's rated as a "superbike." Worst part is that I'm in my mid-twenties, have decent credit, and haven't gotten a single ticket since I was 18 or 19.
Fucking Michigan.
>>67809516
*$70 per month in the summer. Goes down to like $20 in winter
>>67809516
>$130 per month to insure a fucking 2002 Jeep
Are you on plpd?
I know rates are pretty high in some areas, but Detroit really skews the mean heavily from what I can tell. Insurance is still expensive but it's not that bad (in my experience) living in a relatively safe area. I don't have a car right now but I have some +25 friends on plpd who get by with pretty low rates. My mom pays a little over $100 driving a 2012 econobox.
>"highways"
>>67809640
Yeah. That's the PLPD rate.
I've been out of the country since mid-August. I told my State Farm agent to suspend my coverage but he wound up canceling it instead. Since they have a 30-day grace period which I missed - nobody thought to inform me that my coverage had been canceled - my rates are now extraordinarily high due to having a lapse in my insurance.
Allstate is asking me for $400/month for PLPD.
Best deal I've been able to get is $130/month with some fly-by-night local agency.
It's fucking ridiculous. Auto insurance is such a goddamn racket. Government forces you to have it, and then all of these shitty businesses extort you into having insurance around the clock, even when you're not in the fucking country.
>>67807837
Depends of the african country
>>67810653
Which African countries have all-around good infrastructure? Not asking to be ironic - I'm genuinely curious. One of my friends is a Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania and he's traveled around the southern part of the continent a fair deal. He's made it sound like road transport is, on the whole, frustrating and difficult.
He's originally from Russia and has spent time in Turkey and Ukraine, so it's not as if he's just some stupid American whining about the third-world, either.
