Serious lack of actual marching

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vMnDyJZ2ygw

The marching is actually shit here, but the melancholy chanting with the deadly quiet place is interesting.

Except Lauri Torni was one of our most prized soldiers during Vietnam. The man lived to remove commie.

Yep I guess he was quite a man in the U.S. Typical Finn, a helluva soldier.
>>
>>67804169
>one of only about 50 men to ever be awarded the Mannerheim Cross

I'd say he was more than the average Finnish soldier...
>>
>>67804214
I think so too. Maybe same level with Simo Häyhä. I'm proud he fought with U.S.
>>
>>67804255
He was right with Simo's level considering he survived so much without so much as a sctratch, then went on to survive WW2 as an SS volunteer, but still not enough that he came back after 9 years to join our ELITE special forces, Green Berets then fucking CIA (yes, the guys who will kill you in your sleep without remorse), MACV-SOG.

Wow, I read about green berets. Amazing guy without a doubt.
>>
>>67804340
We are proud to have him aboard our men who served. One of the reasons I always respect Finns, apart from your adherence towards to cold weather and uncanny skills in motorsports, you guys sure do have some balls.

Lauri is still the only SS soldier to be buried in Arlington Cemetery. A true American honor.
>>
>>67804410
We always had guts to fight the enemy. This is the last photo of Lauri from what I read here.
>>
>>67804543
There's a Finnish made video out there which has commentary from Finns, Germans, and even Americans talking about Lauri's service to the nations and how he was above and beyond the call of duty. A man born to serve.

Give me a minute, I'll look for it.
>>
Now when I watched this video I ca relate to Lauri. :D
https://youtu.be/Y7Ppn129KFw?list=PLPuEZqrA7_Ygot8qqtmT5SYUuKq9u64us
>>
>>67804711
That's part of it. Look at the related videos after, there's the full video I'm talking about.

I like how he changed his name to Larry Thorne. So American yet so easy to change from something so foreign as Lauri Torni.

The same story can be said about so many Americans.
>>
>>67804788
I think I saw it. A long film about Törni. It is funny Simo Häyhä is a hero here and Lauri Törni almost unheard of, it must be the choice of media.
>>
Definetly Germany or Unbiasedly my own homeland. Germans knew how they make marches.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTtPSj8Slh4

This one was composed by a finn for the russian imperial army and later adopted by a prussian prince who fell in love with it, thus the name "March from petersburg"

Media and propraganda. "The White Death" sounds horrifying, while someone who served the Germans and Americans seems almost like betrayal.

Lauri is still my favorite over Simo, no discredit to him, but since the media never mentions him, it's easy to assume Simo's accolades in the war was hyped up beyond reality.
>>
>>67805005
Yes I agree, must be because of that. But now when I read more about him he is a fucking hero, every inch a soldier. Have a war here and then go to Vietnam, tough as fuck.
