It depends. If I had a lot of money, Brazil. I could afford to live far away from the favelas, and Portuguese is similar enough to Spanish that I would learn the language very quickly. If I was poor, then Japan. Even its "dangerous" areas are pretty safe, and their welfare state is functional (even if it's not especially generous).

First World originally described US allies in the Cold War, and now describes any developed country. Japan is first world by any definition, Brazil is not.

And I'm sure there are a few regions in China with more GDP than Brazil. It doesn't mean it's developed, and you can't just isolate a tiny part of a country and use it as a reference to claim how great the entire thing is.

You guys often treat Japanese as a dumb person, but why you have such problems in your country. We never have such bad area in our country.

It's because Brazil was very poor until just less than 2 decades ago and the government is extremely corrupt and inefficient.
This causes a lot of inequality and is not something that can be easily fixed with simplistic measures like giving free stuff to the poor.
Right now we are in the process of (hopefully) fixing our government's corruption and mismanagement, things are actually looking up but it takes time.

>>
>>67807943
Your country has a special status in this chan, like some sort of transcendent being that leaks it's culture and influence all over the place.
This means that your country has by very very far the most notoriety and both people who love and hate you are always going to try to impersonate you.
If you add this to the fact that your countrymen aren't historically very keen on hanging around this chan (moot showed this multiple times using some graphs on demographics), the problem only gets even more noticeable.
that's pretty much it

Tudo acaba virando drama

We haven't been educated by teachers in schools to love our own country. RATHER, they taught us how Japan was a bad country in ww2, and I was brainwashed somehow which made me hated my own country. But it's rare to see people who actually hate my country.
There is a thing I don't know, but it's important for us.

I'm actually surprised by this.
I always though that you guys were always very nationalistic given your country's isolation throughout such long periods of time.

Surely it must be fairly negative I suppose

Eu queria tanto que o Brasil fosse apenas um pais como qualquer outro, e que eventualmente rolasse uma thread aqui e ali sobre nós pra discutir sobre a nossa cultura.

>>67808565
>There are lots of articles showing Brazil has a fundamental power to become a world player. However

This was a theory. But it was proven wrong many times.

Brazil has structural problems and until these problems are fixed, Brazil will never go anywhere. If a structure has a problem in it's foundation, it will collapse.
>>
>>67808565
There's something my father always told me when he was still around:
Potential is meaningless by itself. It's like a raw iron ore. It's fragile as fuck unless you cast it with heat and force into something useful.

I can't help but see the parallels between this little sentence and my country
>>
>>67808565
If Brazil is fragmented in several countries I think is likely to one or more become a world power and improve quality of life

The problem of Brazil lies in the Federal Constitution itself, a political model and an economic model

The power in Brazil is all concentrated in one place.
>>
>>67808564
>There's something I always wanted to ask a Japanese individual: What's your opinion on the USA?
When I was a kid (in 1990s), teacher taught me about ww2, as if Japan was a different county (an evil county).
Japan was an evil who did lots of war crime against China and Korea. This is what I was taught by teacher, and everyone of my class seemed get brainwashed by the teachers.
Our opinion against the US is not bad actually.
Look at Korea and Germany. They get divided their own country into two countries, but we didn't get divided.
I even feel appreciation against The US who dropped nukes into our land. BECAUSE which protect Russians into our country.
>>
>>67805706

>>
>>67808725
We only see it on TV, we do not try them.
>>
>>67808587

>>
>>67808725
Brazil has "bunda culture", as in men love these big asses, so some attentionwhore from TV does surgery or takes steroids to grow a huge ass and then it goes viral and some random girls copy it and start trying to get the big ass too.

This results in it seeming like it's normal and common, when in reality we just worship it. Of course there some girls who have big ass naturally due to black ancestry and things like that, but these hot blondes with big toned ass is obvious steroid or surgery.
>>
>>67808725
I'm actually the guy who posted that and even though I posted that kind-of jokingly given the way the thread seemed to be heading by that time I didn't really think no one would reply.
What I meant by that is that I don't see how our girls have bigger asses than most others from latin heritage. I've been around fat some countries some I'm at very least not talking completely out of my ass (sorry for the shitty pun but I couldn't resist).

Thing is our girls seem to like to take pictures from their asses in high angles and such, hence the impression.
There's also carnival that happens once in a year and,well... it speaks by itself
Lastly, plastic surgery. This is one of the few things we're at the world's top and It obviously speaks by itself as well

>>67808715
This is honestly very surprising to me. Especially the atom bomb bit. I always though you'd have a lot of pages over your books covering how those weapons of mass destruction were disproportionate response killing loads of innocent civilians and the like.
>>
>>67808800
small ass is considered good here.
You live on the opposite side of the earth. So idea is different.
>>
>>67808776
>>67808800
>>67808898

I see. That makes sense. I think it falls under a broader topic of popular mentality regarding various stereotypes and false expectations. "Short men cannot be successful with women since they prefer tall men". "my penis is only 6 inches I have no chances with women". I think it is pretty universal.
>>
>>67808975
Yeah every country has always it's own stereotypes to deal with. It's just that regarding this particular one our guys seem to be particularly proud to boast about at every single opportunity.
I'm an ass-man, i can see the appeal to this stereotype but... still.. they are too tryhard at times
>>
>>67808898
I have a Brazilian acquaintance. I once told my opinions about the nukes to him, and he was very suppressed like you.
I'm note sure if my opinion represents entire Japanese people, but I'm sure that most of Japanese people don't give a fuck against the US as far as I know.
We are still confused about "justice" about the nukes. some people say it's the US faults, but the other people say the same opinion with me.

The most important thing is that the US is our most important friend for us. We don't give a fuck against this .
>>
>>67807674
Most rich people in third world countries get rich by stepping on poor people. Why would they care about something they are used to be disgusted by?
>>
>>67809101
We gave you workers rights and democracy after.

We broke up land lords and allowed the peasants to own their own farms for the first time.
>>
>>67809061
But the stereotype of the big ass is true. We are descendants of Portuguese, Spaniards and Italians and also Africans. All with women with big butts
>>
>>67809061

Very long thread. Love Japan, but I'll stick to Hueland

@Growth and shit's comments: Natural resources really don't mean much of anything when you have horrible wealth distribution + corruption + a big controlling union. Sadly for those things to change the entire population must be very well educated to control what the government does, and this won't happen until at least the distribution problem gets fixed. You can see the possible loop in this, right?

@Self-hating monkeys: Kys. This generation that came with you are disgusting little "special" things. Can't work, can't study, can't be useful for anyone or anything but yourselves. I'd very much like to say that: You have to go back.
