you can rent a pretty nice one-room apartment in the historical part of Kyiv near the subway for ~370 dollars per month.
heating, light, water and all that stuff will cost like 40-80 dollars per month together.
you can buy an unlimited pass for subway and any other type of public transport for 8(!) dollars for month.
food, alcohol, cigarettes and all that shit are very cheap too.
