How did the myth of Scandinavian countries being socialist originate?

But more to the point, the difference between social democracy and democratic socialism. The main difference being that the latter still advocates for the collectivization of the means of production while the former does not.

Pretty much the only thing the state ever "owned" here was shit deemed invaluable to the functioning of the country, railways and power grids and phone grids and such. And even those were owned by the state in the form of private companies in which the state was majority shareholder.
