Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (1869-1916) was a Russian born in a village in fucking Siberia. He was illiterate, never went to school yet he managed to get to the Russian court after he healed crown's prince thus winning the affection of the tsar and the tsarina. As time progressed he became more and more influential in court's politics to the point where he was the one appointing the ministers.
