>population density of melbourne
>green as densest
>red as least dense
really makes me think
>>
this isn't really what they call a 'quality thread' haha
>>
What exactly am I supposed to see here?
>>
>>67321580
OP believes red should indicate the most population on that map and green should indicate the most, but the map does the reverse.
Apparently this means Australia "shitposts" with their cartography.
>>
>>67321610
*green should indicate the least
>>
>>67321610
>>67321649
The middle of major cities always have the higher population density, it thins out in the suburbs. That's a universal feature across the globe
>>
>>67321735
The problem isn't with the population itself, OP's problem is with the COLORS used to represent the density.
He believes red should be "most dense" and green should be "least dense" when on the map it's the inverse.
>>
>>67321483
Me on the right
>>
>>67321831
You can clearly see that the center is denser as it should be, OP is wrong.
>>
on most population density map, red indicates higher population density
in this map it's the opposite
>>
>>67321954
It's not the opposite, the regions further away from the center are less populated.

I don't know how it works in Indonesia but in most cities that's how it is.
>>
>>67322000
yes the city centre is the densest
but on most maps, the colour red is used to illustrate high population density
>>
>>67322076
Not really, most maps have the center as the densest spot in a city.
>>
>>67321918
Jesus fucking Christ, am I being baited to death or do I really need to explain this using grade schooler terms?
GREEN on the map represents high population density and as one would expect, the closer to the center you get, the denser the population is.
RED on the map is the opposite; it represents lower population densities and the population density color gets more red the further away from the center you get.
OP BELIEVES that the COLORS USED TO REPRESENT THESE DENSITIES are the other way around, NOT THAT THE PLACES FILLED IN WITH THOSE COLORS ARE WRONG.
OP believes that RED is a color you represent HIGH DENSITY with and GREEN is a color for LOW DENSITY. OP's map is still (presumably) correct with the density it represents as the colors are in the right places, he just wishes the color RED was used for HIGH DENSITY and GREEN was for LOW DENSITY.
>>
>>67322125
But the center IS more populated, there are some denser parts outside the center but the center is still the densest spot.
