This is the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, I've been there it's amazing, even more impressive than Notre-Dame de Paris I'd say
It's less massive but the stained glass are unique
>tfw your town's cathedral took so long to complete that it's half Romanesque and half early Gothic
>>67321012
war it is then... No cunt, Maybe Italy, any cunt that didn't do reformation and burn their beautiful stuff to be fair. We used to have nice things. So did Ireland.

>>67321567
Pristine.
I only remember St Antony.
Padre Pio isn't there I'm guessing.
>>67321556

Fucking kids I swear
>>67321567
Mass would be over and the priest would be telling folks to go home.
>>67321556
Germany does (and we as well)
>>67321708
>>67321749
It's nice from the outside as well
Not really impressive or anything but located in a comfy place
Another rich interior
>>67321970
Comfy being a Catholic but you can be complacent. Then see how some lads work for months, years just to have what you were born as.
I don't even do confession anymore
>>67322128
twenty thousand Hail Marys, One Are Father. And never come back
>>67322128
I'm not even a believer but I'd fight for our churches and other religious buildings because they're parts of our history

>We have nothing else though.
And what about Cathedrals of Salisbury, Wells, Catenbury, Westminster, York, Exeter? Stop whining, Poland has literally 0 marvel tier Gothic. The best we got is probably pic rel.
>>67322362
At least people in Poland still attend their churches
>>67322212
Whats that Dawkins quote, he's realised that Christianity may be a bulwark against something worse?
I have doubts but, I don't want to see our centuries of history neglected. Our heritage.
>>67322362
I know. I was pretending, to get to see yours.
Don't hate me Karol.
>>67322467
>At least people in Poland still attend their churches
What's the point, all the self-conscious people know that religion is bullshit anyway, it's 21st century.
Last one for a while, a man gotta eat
>>67322569
I don't know but I kinda agree, I used to be fedora-tier and even though I doubt I'll ever believe at least I realize commenting "down with religion France is a secular country I shouldn't have to see churches on my way to work everyday" on facebook sucks
Mass is ritual which is healthy for the spirit and it bonds communities.
Miss the Irish Priest telling everyone he wasn't starting mass until the lads put the fags out and came in, he'd call them in by name.
Last masses I was at were funerals.
Might go tomorrow. Probably not.
>>67322965
I love those coloured roofs
how the fuck did they manage before inventing speakers, and if they did manage, how come they need them now, bolted into the walls, making interiors look like crap?
>>67322569
Not an actual quote.
>>67323273
There are a lot in Burgundy

>>67341189
that one looks simply shit for me it's too messed up with all these different towers
>>67341237
>>67341471
>>67341551
>>67341471
>it's too messed up with all these different towers
but that's good. the cathedral is rich in architectural styles. it is basically a collection of the most precious art in poland
>>67341659
>it is basically a collection of the most precious art in poland
not really impressive art then...
>>67342026
yes, because 123. cliche french cathedral is so much better :^)
also symmetry, mir8?
>>67342278
123 cliche french cathedral honestly looks more imposing that the best Poland has to offer
Just look at that Cracovian cathedral, except for few ornaments it looks quite poor, towers are just straight rectangular or octagonal, no depth, and as a whole it does have quite a simple (poor?) shape. It looks like a barn with few messy towers and chapels here and there.
I don't think any Polish church really impressed me. It's weird that such a Catholic country where the Church held so much power and influence never really built any outstanding temple.
>>67342760
>imposing
art is not about being imposing
