It is not a benefit for the people who live in the rich countries so much, as it is a benefit for the corporations who run those countries. Euro is a cheaper currency because of having poor countries in it, and due to protectionism, it means the German manufacturing dominates the EU and can export cheaper than what it would be if it was just Germany on its own. We're forced to buy fish (we eat a LOT of it) from Spain, because we were encouraged to stop. And now some of the fish sucks because it's not as fresh.

Same for Oranges (which are called "Portugal" in a lot of languages, even), and a lot of stuff. We've been forced to buy a lot of shit from Spain because we're not allowed to compete.

And it's not Spain's fault, because they suffered from the same shit, since Agriculture is a no-no because that'd be competing with France.

It's bullshit then that we are the ones that have to take threats of sanctions. It's not that we didn't know the rules coming in, but a lot of our politicians are corrupt and deviated funds, so now we have no way to recuperate. Most of the "regional development" money meant for smaller cities got spent in Lisbon.

As for albanians not being as polite in other countries, I think that is fair to say about many people who leave their country in hopes of better economic opportunity. While living in Dublin a Croat friend once told me that the Croats living in Ireland are usually the ones who had nothing left back home. Ones who had poor relationship with their family.
