In europe , uk has always been the biggest power against russia. There's this belief in the public that the eu is against russia but it's not really founded on much besides conspiracies .

In reality germany depends on russian resources. Without the uk and romania, poland, slovakia and hungary all having claims on ukrainian land that russia can at least "partially" satisfy in case of a war against ukraine. The only states "against" russia remains the baltics and putin's not going to risk fucking up what is essential a unwritten peace agreement with the EU for the baltics.

Estonia is a goner, let Russia have it.

The country is the main access point for Scandinavian bullshit into Slavland; they couldn't pierce through the endless savagery of Poles and Czechs, so now they've decided to take the longer route through Finland, Estonia and finally reach the master race countries from there.

It was the response to the pro-western coup in Kyev and losing Ukraine from Kremlin's sphere of influence. He didnt really care about the Russian population, but its support and disorganization of the Ukranian army and security services made that annexation extremly easy.

There are similarities, yes, but, president left the country without any notice. And elected parliament voted to kick him out of presidency following by re-elections. No military leaders were capturing anything. It's not a coup. What happened in turkey a few month ago was a dictionary definition of coup. While of course western leaders used the situation, as did the russians to both push their agendas, it wasn't a coup.

More like muh falling ratings. Ukraine deposed a pro-Putin president that he invested a lot of money into, his prestige in Russia would crumble if he didn't do something about it. And Russia's entire political system stands on the shoulders of Putin's personal prestige. If he wasn't there his entire ruling party would currently be dangling from lamp posts.
So he sabotaged the new Ukrainian regime by starting a civil war and payed lip service to revanchist imperialists by annexing Crimea. Antagonising western countries also gave him an easy way to boost his power with "whole world hates us all and who want me to step down are western agents" rhetoric. It wasn't about some minority, it was about preserving his personal power at any cost.

>If not a coup what else? He left the country but just without any reasons?
Yes he did. This can be swayed both ways. Constitution doesn't have a rule about what to do if president just flew away on his private helicopter. That makes it unconstitutional I guess. But it's just a bullshit excuse because parliament was elected one and had the power to vote.
>he almost signed EU association agreement?
Wasn't this the WHOLE point of euromaidan that he decided NOT to sign. At this point people realised that he's just buying time and not going to sign anything cause he went to russia asking $15mil and to join trade union with them.

>I really enjoyed this book. It was the first alternate history book I had ever read. As a history buff, I found it entirely plausible. The Isolationist factions in the U.S. at the time were doing a very good job at keeping America out of 'Europe's War'. If Germany had not declared war on the U.S., we very well could have continued to support the British and the Russians with what material we could send, but our military force would have been centered on Japan as fighting a one front war is much easier than fighting on two fronts. Some of the characters were a two-dimensional in their make-up, but for the most part believable in composition. This wasn't heavy reading, by any means, just an enjoyable story for those of us that like to think 'what if?'. The only down-side to '1945' is after the fast pace at the end of the book, there's NO SEQUEL! Give us a break, the story was left hanging in mid-air. What happen's next? Do the surviving Nazi commandos get out of the country or do they have to set down in the mountains to be possibly helped by Charles Lindberg and sympathizers from the German-American Bund? Does former-Sergeant York hunt them down with the help from the gang from the VFW hall and then have a final sniper-on-sniper confrontation with Skorzeny? Will the A-bomb fall into Hitler's hands? What, check back with us about five years later to find the answer to these and other questions? Throw us a line guys! Where's the next one?

>"Oh no! America isn't defending Estonia. Sorry Eesti, looks like you're going to be annexed... Yup, nothing we could do to stop big mean Russia. Good bye Estonia!" - Euros right now.
If any of you actually gave a shit you would be jumping to their aid if Russia invaded, but then again I guess you all have a good history of backstabbing each other.

Pooland had a survey in which an overwhelming majority said they would fight for the Baltics
>>
>>67239472
Somehow I'm not surprised. UK and Poland always seem to be the only allies worthwhile in all of the EU.

>>67239472
What is the default mindset of Balkans? Do they feel three-pronged-squeezed between degenerate Europe, Communist threat from Mother Russia and Muslim enrichment from south?
And they still find the time to find between themselves?
>>
>>67239589
>to fight between themselves
Fixed.
>>
>>67239559
>UK
worthwhile to the US maybe, but when it comes to the rest of Euros the UK has always done all they could to sabotage them, there is a reason De Gaulle did not want them in the EU

>between degenerate Europe
I dont think the general populace cares about pol/int memes
>Communist threat from Mother Russia
they fear Russia and frankly are a bit irrational about it, as long as NATO exists there is no threat to them, and frankly even if NATO didn't exist Russia wouldn't risk invading Baltics, there is not much to gain there and a lot to lose
> Muslim enrichment from south?
"refugees flock to the rich western euro countries, Baltics are safe from that encroachment
>>
>>67239721
>I dont think the general populace cares about pol/int memes
Of course I'm not talking about REEEEing about white privilege, I'm talking more about hating thy neighbor, think a South Vs. North hillbilly mentality in the US. "Those Germans need Jesus" or something.

>refugees flock to the rich western euro countries
For now. Bulgarians seemed pretty pissed to me when I spoke to some last year, not sure how it is nowadays.

If those states have russian military bases and could host "defensive" NATO missile systems, yes.

The US would lose dozens of billions in defense contracts. It will never happen. Although I hope he pressures Europe enough to increase military spending.

First of all, Estonia has been a good NATO ally, we spend our 2%, we've sent our guys to missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and if that doesn't matter to the US, then fuck it, NATO is dead. We really dont expect any help from Finland, since they have a history of selling us out. UK and Poles are more trustworthy desu.

Second of all, unlike the other balts, we've always had conscription, most of Estonian men know guerilla warfare and survival in the wilderness. The only option for russkis to attack and hold Estonia would be to nuke it to the ground, but in that case Russia would kill the 26% ethnic russian minority aswell. Would the Russian people really support a Putin who would kill 300 000 Russians for luls?

Chill the fuck out, everything will be okay, and if not, i will be hanging out in the dense woods with assault rifles and canned foods.

I really hope this fag isn't made Secretary of State like some are suggesting.

Putin isn't going to invade the Balts so it's a stupid question though.

Nope, and they posted pictures of crying men when their government tried to re-instate conscription.

What do you mean? Finns helped Estonia in your war of independence. Do you think Finland should have protected Estonia in WW2 while at the same time fighting our own war?
>>
>>67244773

Nah, but you shouldn't have deported Estonians (even the guys who joined to fight alongside you in your Winter War) to the USSR to find their certain deaths in labour camps.
