Milk in tea is delicious, mate.

Oil is a better lubricant than water and it tones down the acidity. I generally like to also add cheese and egg in it as well. It helps emulsify it.

Personally, I'm all about dropping melatonin and valerian root extract in my coffee, helps balance out the caffeine and sugar.

Most Americans don't do this, and that looks like it was done incorrectly.

It's supposed to be black coffee, and a small bit of butter. A shot of heavy cream and a small dash of whey protein would do the same thing, but you wouldn't have the psychological effect of what people say an oil slick floating on your black coffee can do.
