The majority of illegals in the US are from overstayed visas. The wall does nothing for that.
Illegal drugs are a business that makes millions, if you think a wall will stop cartels you're delusional. Besides, there are other ways into the country - by water for example.

The wall will just restrict supply and raise prices. Increased prices will lead to higher incentives to enter the market, not just by land (more tunnels) but by sea and air as well. Might ironically make it cost-efficient to actually start production locally as well.
