In US it's currently legal for recreational use in 4 states, and for medical use in 20 states.

Yet it's still illegal at the federal level. WTF? Red states.

It's basically legal here for personal use. You can have up to 10 grams without getting a fine. The Faroe Islands have mandatory sentences for even minor possession. One of Miðflokkurin's few goals is to minimize drug and alcohol use and they have done quite a good job.

Medical marijuana is legal and tightly regulated. Recreational marijuana will be legalized soon (legislation coming in April).
