I make some from time to time, I want to see if there's another way to do them

At first you boil the lentils for ~15 minutes and then you wash them.
Then warm up like 1 cup of olive oil.
You grind 2 pieces of garlic and 1-2 onions.
You throw them in the oil for like 2 minutes.
Then you throw the lentils in as well for another 2-3 minutes.
Then add some more oil, water, a small spoon of salt, some pepper, 1.5 big spoon of tomato paste, and 2 or 3 laurel leaves.
