Actually it's not a race divide, Medellin used to be a pretty white city since there where not that much natives in here, but due to guerrillas displacing people from other departments who where more mestizo/native/black and having to take them as refugees here most poor people end up being less white, but there are a lot of places who didn't receive that much refugees and you can see a lot of poor white people

Not OP, but here I go...it's alright.

The city has 165 000 people (more than Barrie), but it's split into smaller communities. So while we have one of the largest cities by area, it's not a rural shitfest. Most people live in Sudbury proper, but the other communities (which existed on their own before amalgamation) have decent populations of their own. Very few people are actually in the sticks; most people live in their own little towns, with Sudbury proper being the center ("big city") of the area.

Imagine living in Sault Ste. Marie, or Thunder Bay. Basically any other Northern Ontario city. It's exactly like that. You live in a city, but you're also a ten minute drive from seemingly endless wilderness. Your city exists on it's own, and not as a growth on Toronto, or Montréal, and so the surrounding communities look to YOU.

Sure there's a bit of a rural vibe too, but as I said, there are smaller towns. Sudbury proper is very much a city, as are the other communities. But because you're so close to the edge of civilization, you have hunters, reserves, and more right there. It's nice, though personally I'm not outdoorsy and don't leave the city much.
