The majority of Polish in England completely segregate themselves from the English and appear not to want anything to do with the natives, which is why they get so much hostility here. If Brits came to live in Poland and formed little ghettos and set up fish and chip shops and with signs that weren't in Polish I don't think they would be received well, just like the polski skleps haven't been received well here. Their mass migration is (through no fault of the average Pole btw, I fully blame the eu for this) contributing to the erosion of English culture and indirectly causing a shift to the political right in this country.

That said, when I was at uni my landlord was installing a new bathroom and hired a Polish plumber. He was a fucking huge slav bear and couldn't speak a word of English, but one day we offered him to smoke a joint with us and play Mario kart n64 all afternoon and he got completely blazed and even though he couldn't speak a word of English we played Mario kart all afternoon (he lost every race but couldn't stop laughing about it) we had hours of fun together. So even though I disagree with Polish immigration in principle, in practice I really liked that one Polish bloke

I was a cop for a few years (I quit, every Swede knows exactly why I quit to), and literally every person I had to "escort" to the fucking ER or drunk tank was a Polack. Seriously, we'd pick up 2 or 3 passed out fucks at the train station/bus station, they'd sober up enough to actually be awake in the car and suddenly there's three agitated sloshed dudes in the back going "KURWA KURWA KURWA".

Government has decided to re-organize the entire police force, it's to be nationalized (as opposed to every county having it's own police authority). More paperpushing, the decision making process takes place further away from the people on the street who actually know their area and what is needed to get shit down. Worse all over.

Also the overtly shitty pay considering what the job entails. Before going to the police academy I got a vocational degree in computer networking (cisco certifications and such), I went back to that and got a starting pay that was higher than my cop salary that I had worked up after 5 years experience... I would never have gotten much higher than that either.

I was also disappointed with the job. I knew it wouldn't be like in the movies, of course, but I wanted to be a cop to help people in need and to protect society and innocents. But I helped no one, those drunk people and the addicts and the battered women and the angry kids? All I did was give them a fucking ride, the only reason I was called instead of a cab was because I had the authority to take them with us by force... at least cabbies get tips to supplement their shitty salary.
