I read a book about our language (written around the time Norwegians and Danes came here) that said our language is basically a split into two (back then) Tunumiut is more closer to Canadians Inuit, and the other half Siberian. Not sure about the grammar, but few words stick out and mean exactly the same

It varies. It depends where you live, people living in settlements and East Greenlanders do get married earlier and have children earlier, too, than people living in towns. Mainly Nuuk. Early marriage is around 20. And they're usually uneducated and now there's a lot of single moms from my generation (born around 1985-1990)

I don't know if there's any english translation to H. Rink's "Eskimoiske Eventyr og Sagn" it's very informative about old culture, myths and language. Either that or my man from my hometown Knud Rasmussen. There's reading material from Danish and Norwegians, since our history was based on storytelling I don't think there's written material from us, and all the written material is usually from whale hunters and missionaries, and H. Rink's book.

We barely have tightened up on our gun laws. Accidents and threats (very rare, but they do happen along with murder) happen, and I don't think you'd have to fill out a form to buy a gun. I got mine when I turned 14, and I still have it at home, but don't use it anymore. Latest I heard about is gun safety, and/or teaching your kids that guns aren't toys.

Same here, either that or dog sledge. About your history, and nature. I can't remember if there's anything about culture, but I know Iceland is talked about in the uni I went to, mostly in MOSA. Are there a lot of Greenlanders in Iceland? Iceland has been pretty visible here, Icelandic people and your flag is often raised here, I assume it's business meetings

There is also controversy when a fishing ship is sold to Greenland since there is a law that requires the crew to be something like 80% Greenlandic
Last year some lad that sold a ship to Greenland had his tires slashed on a weekly basis and battery acid pored on his car (that causes rust)

My cousin moved there this summer, don't know which city/town. He wanted to move from Greenland for a few years and wasn't really interested in other places other than Iceland. Also my friend went there for some work out thing, he's a boxer and he was there for some competition I can't remember what it was exactly, but I don't think it was boxing.

We also learned about you in the context of whaling/fishing that went on here, which is why I don't think we were taught about your culture, only know your language is pretty difficult and have awesome alphabets. And the news about mackerel fishing was pretty talked about, how fishers wanted and whether whom the quota belonged to/whose sea it was. It was mostly after your banks had a scandal uni started talking about your culture and history what exactly is going on there.

We 'saved' Denmark by supplying them our whales and fish (they were using it for energy and lighting back then) and I think I heard about the same goes for you.

Fishing laws are pretty weird, kinda difficult to understand the relations and how it works when you're not a fisher. Icelanders, Russians, Filippines along with Canadians often stop by here, but it's mostly the town fishermen that are pretty much making the economy work here. Sad to hear about how he was treaded, but can kinda understand the frustrations there might be, since, again, it seems to be a pretty frustrating industry to be involved in.

My friend (the one I mentioned earlier, about some kind of competition) actually went on a trip on a landcruiser in Iceland, he also does this here- driving from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut is pretty common, even though there aren't any official roads. Do you think it could actually happen, or would people be butthurt about how the environment is being ruined?

It's a band from here, found out about Haimaey from that song, thought it was great and a good tune, too.
