so you have our problem? Sure, we don't have fancy jail and prison's but a roof over their head, 3 square meals a day, a place to sleep, potential job, etc. If a smart person goes into jail or prison, it can really improve their life, so homeless (depending on city) will often do it as often as possible.

No real rape or violence.

You get a room with a closet, bed, table, toilet.
If you have to stay for a long period of time you also get a shower and kitchen.
You get to watch tv, play board games for prizes, play pool and workout.
You can hire a playstation, buy candy and buy phone credit, but you have to work for that.
In the morning you have to pick all the meals you want during the day. I think each day they have a menu of 4 dinners you can pick from.
