Only ruffians and plebs use American English.
Blue blood people speak in British English.
Savages speak in Yank English.

We learned both in school but I didnt care about the difference in the long run so I probably speak a mixture coated in a local accent and think most people here do the same.
American english is easier to listen to, but british one sounds nicer.

Prefer some American spellings and some British spelling desu. Centre is a silly way to spell the word but I like "ou" spellings like flavour, honour, Armour etc. On the fence about "ize" though.

>Centre is a silly way to spell the word
It's the correct way.

Yes but it's not phonetic at all. I can tolerate more obscure non-phonetic spellings (like lieutenant) but centre is such a common word that it's strange spelling gets annoying.
