with eastern euro, of course we make less money than the richer part of west (bavaria, alsace, lombardy, paris, frankfurt, etc) and of course we pay less for basic stuff.

the problem is not that. the problem is that bc of gommunism our starting point of wealth is far far lower than in the west.

italians make no money, but their families would own at least the family apartment and house and another residence in the mountains or by the sea and possible ancestral home in some pictoresque village, and have a couple of cars, and have a nice fat bank account.

I have none of that, I have jack shit, except the family ancestral home which is falling apart because my granny is getting too old to take care of it but she doesnt want to move.

I find it interesting that every time someone mentions the actual average salary, people crawl out of the woodwork screaming that the average wage is less than 20k.
Generally these people are technically unemployed, and are working in the grey sector, and work for less than the minimum wage.

The reason why we fell back behind countries like Slovakia with whom we were comparable.
I ll give it to our gommies, in the first 20 years they managed to get us to Czech levels (although Czechs fell back compared to before gommies at that point),
But instead of building on that, we completely fucking destroyed everything.
Our GDP in 1998 was 40% of our gdp in 1989, and then it was halved during the war in 1999.
We started 21st century with about 20-25% of our 1989 GDP. We re now at about 75%.

I'll just add, on the srious note.

I know a lot of things are cheaper, like apartments. For example my really proper apartment costed like 80000(without the paiting, furniture etc. of course) where the same one at a localization as good(near the lake) would cost like 150 000 - 200 000 eur in Germany or Netherlands.

But still, I think earnings should be equalized if not by a lot than by like 30-40%. But I also know it's not EUs work to do so.

>Nike sneakers
This really depends on what kind you want. They usually go for 50-200 dollars. The max I have ever spent on a pair was 95 dollars. This was back in high school, today I would spend 60 max.
>Bottle of Coca Cola
This crap is cheap ass hell. A two liter bottle costs 2.50. If I wanted a can which is 350ml is just .50. The ones you get from the soda machine cost 1.25
>Car
I still have my 1999 BMW that my brother gave me. I don't plan on replacing it until it is completely fucked. If I did have to buy a car I would not spend more than 5,000 on it.
>Rent a 1 bedroom flat
This depends in what area you're looking for one. The lowest I have seen them be in my city would be 400 dollars. You still have to pay the water bill and electricity bill separately. For the electricity you can go with any of the companies in your area. Some offer free electricity from 9pm to 5am. But they have to make profit so for the other hours the price is doubled or tripled.
Some appartents/condos offer all the above for a set price. The lowest would be 560
>Big Mac
They literally cost 1.25, nothing much to say about that.
>Jeans trousers
I still have my pants/shorts from high school that I use on a regular basis. I have not gone shopping for about a year. The most I would spend on shorts/jeans would be 20 dollars.

My salary is 1300 a week for anyone wondering.

Realistic post tax wage per month: €3000

Sneakers 1/60 or 2-4%

1.5l: 1/800 or 0.125%

Cheap used car is 33-50%. Realistic used car is 120-150%.

New car is what.... ~35k-60k€? So you take up loans and abuse tax deduction if you want one.

Flat is 20-25% rent. Realistically you are looking at getting a partner, and then going for the next tier, and both of you keep that baseline.

Its been so long since I've ordered one that i can't remember. I want one. Town only has Burgerking and Wimpies

Jeans is like 0.8% to like 3%. They are pretty inexpensive for durable pants.
