What old pantheon was the coolest?
The Greek one, of course.
>>66638457
Slavic mythology is quite interesting, mainly because there is little known.
Close tie between Egyptian and Nordic for me.
Surya, the Sun God
The Aztec one.
>inb4 CHI
Roman ofc
>>66638510
Greek mythology was basically a bunch of gods getting drunk, then fighting/fucking anything they could.
>>66639681
Yeah so pretty cool then

Exactly

Polish ones are criminally underrated.

Never said it was a bad thing, if anything it makes it one of the most entertaining out there.

>implying that polish mythology is different from slavic mythology
>>66639786
>>66639803
Considering Polish lands are the proto-slavic ones it's kinda fucking obvious that everyone who went west, east, south etc. from here took the religion with them.
But we do have some differences.

As with vodka (Russian-invented), I enjoy these gods (also Russian-invented).

You won't bait be assburger.

>Considering Polish lands are the proto-slavic ones
Holy shit, are you equating people that lived in an area 1000 years ago with a modern nation-state's boundaries? That has to be the dumbest thing I've read all day.
Polan you are drunk stop shitposting
>>66639897
*me
Christian/Jewish mythology is quite neat when you dig deep enough.
Isnt it obvious?
>>66639942
>Christian myth
>interesting
>>66639900
100 years ago there wa sa Polish state here.
I'm talking about much earlier times.
>>66639969
*1000

>>66639969
But you have to admit that there are very little records and information about ancient Slavic mythology and history and a lot of stuff about it nowadays is made up.
>>66640031
I know and I admit it.
You need to remember Christianity hit us hard, it literally wiped out 14(!) of Polish rulers that were before Mieszko.
Historians now agree that it's a fact and German and some Polish sources just confirm it.
>>66640031
It also depends on what you mean by "made up". It's just watered down, that would be the better word for it.
Ixtlilton (Black Face - in the obsidian mirror), he was the lord of ink and health, his temple was called the house of the writer.
Ek Chuah (Black Star Warchief), the mayan god of travelers and merchants collected the souls of the fallen in battle to bring them with himself into the underworld.
>>66640081
Also the day of "Dziady" is pretty cool.
If you played Witcher 3 you could have experienced it ingame:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dziady
>>66640115
i think there was a couple that kept the house of the dead or something that was pretty cool
Nordic is pretty cool, Tolkien took a lot of inspiration from it when writing his books

A lot of Hindu gods are insanely cool but I don't know if they have a pantheon or what
>>66640593
What a small cock.
Was it because you believed he created romanians in his own image?
>>66642483
They're all generally considered manifestations of one supreme reality, but hindus have a different idea on which one it is per individual
I found it for the Civ5 and my favorite is Tears of the Gods.
The ones that have a lot of direct sources (Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Etruscan, Indian etc.) and weren't constructed by christian monks/nationalists.

Though i have to admit, even though its to be taken with a grain of salt, Irish mythology is pretty damn cool/trippy.
>>66643457
It's a Satyr with nymphs
>>66638457
Mesopotamian (Sumerian) is vastly underrated
>they believed their temples are actually physical homes of Gods, so they built them with huge doors and rooms
>Euphrat and Tigris were literal rivers of tears of ancient goddess representing sweet water
>the land between (Mesopotamia itself) was her body
>husband of this goddess, ancient god of salt water was a lazy titan, sleeping under earth
>the whole world was a bowl with covered top floating in endless water, with occasional leaks on the top (rain)
>in one myth, one god (En/Enkidu) fucks his daughter, has another daughter with her, fucks her too, has another daughter with her, fucks her too etc. like ten times
>in other myth, En literally jerks off and cums all over the land, making it fertile
>in another myth, En has a drinking game with one goddess where they fuck up people (limbless, deaf, crippled etc.) and make up jobs for them
Shame i don't know much about it, i just know about En and their genesis
>>66640066
>Wiped out 14 rulers that were before Mieszko

Only correct post in this thread. The OG religion.
Judaism (and thus Christianity and Islam) actually stole the story of Moses for example from Mesopotamian sources. The basket baby thing.
>>66638457
Christian because he would kick every other God's ass
>>66647861
The Nordic is my favorite but I'm probably a little biased.
The Slavic looks very cool, but I don´t know much about it.
Also the Greek is very intresting and suprisingly similar to the Nordic.

That's because they are both PIE belief systems.
I'm working on trying to find some good ilustrations for the main gods in the Aztec pantheon, this is what I've got so far, tho I think I'll be tweaking it a bit, I want to try and have each look distinctive enough it conveys the aspect they represent, maybe try and write a brief description for each one.
