They avoid being hated even more than they already are.

I was being sarcastic once and a Russian replied to me saying that my kind words really touched his heart even with all the bad in the world and that my post was a symbol of a sliver of shining goodness even though I was being completely sarcastic.
Made me feel a lil' good since and I've tried to become a better person.
