how the fuck can you think this is good? how can you even allow parents make this for your childrens lunchboxes?

just tried it out and the combination made me get gag reflexes, absolutely fucking disgusting.

peanut butter should only get mixed with nutella in sandwiches.
>>
just don't pile peanut butter onto it like you pile muslims onto your wife and it'll be okay
>>

fucking disgusting.

It's pretty good with doce de leite, goiaba or fruit jam.
How did you manage to mess that up?
>>
>>66586262
PB&J takes like 20 seconds to make. I generally take like 4 of them with me with some chips or crackers when I start a 24 hour shift and just munch on those.
>>
>Swedes have never known the wonderment of peanut butter and jalapeno sandwiches.
>the burn that sticks to the roof of your mouth

I admit since I've grown I no longer like PBJ sandwiches. Too sweet. But a peanut butter sandwich a bowl of chili takes me to my comfy zone.

I got a PB with peter pan on it from US.
Mix of PB and hazelnut cream is perfect.

Nah. It's what we put in our children's lunch boxes because children have a sweet tooth, and it's full of calories.

We used to have school lunch programs than focuses on meat, vegetables, and starches, but that was deemed to lame or oppressive by the right wingers so .... PBJ.

seriously what could go wrong?

i prefer almond butter to peanut butter since its actual nuts, but the flavor is similar anyway.

again, it's nuts + fruit, what could go wrong?
>>
>>66589051

>A russian could live for a month on a PBJ.

I'm not excusing them. But it's what we have, partially because we have decimated school lunch programs because helicopter parents were worried their children wouldn't finish the meal and the conservative retards were calling hot lunches a waste of taxpayer money.

Yes, we are fucked up.

I like mine with the bread slightly (barely) toasted. It makes it easier to spread without tearing.
>>
>>66589331
It's laziness.

American schools had convenient and (somewhat) healthy lunch programs, so people just had their kids eat those. Nut jobs ended the lunch programs. People are lazy and rather than put the effort to make healthy lunches for their kids, parents slapped together PB&Js and sent the little shits to school.

The fact that kids are picky and that PB&Js are basically candy probably plays into it too.
>>
>>66588242
No it's not sweet at all, at least here. It's pure peanut flavour
>>
>>66589331

No, you need to understand the special level of stupidity that is the American parent.

1. We had excellent school lunch programs that provided hot, nutritious, balanced lunches for kids. They could be boring, but usually tended toward "grandma foods" like beef manhattan, spaghetti, chili, swiss steak, etc. Often with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables.

2. During the 80s-90s it was considered "cool" to make fun of the school lunch menu we all enjoyed. It became a meme. Kids stopped eating their lunches and parents were concerned. Taking your lunch in a brown bag was considered better.

2.5 Conservatives attacked school lunch programs because they were another example of Government Largesse, and because the kids didn't always love eating healthy food the meals weren't finished. This was seen as waste, and so school lunch programs were attacked.

3. The food manufacturers capitalized on this with "lunchables" and shit that was instant. Busy helicopter parents bought these for their kids, but they were expensive. They were also unhealthy.

4. Parents without money to throw away were forced to pack lunches for their kids because conservatives drastically cut school lunch funding. They could not afford Lunchables or other fancy shit, so they packed what they could afford: PBJ.

We suck.

>had
Niggawhat, every school still has a cafeteria in it.
>>
>>66587553

PBJ was a food from the dark ages that kids like to eat because it's so damn easy for them to make themselves, it's not that it's supposed to taste good, it's they like to feel "big and grown up" by making it.
>>
>>66589865

>not having milk with PB&J

Are you black or something?
>>
>>66586262
I hate PB&J personally. Never understood the love for it.
>>
>>66588056
Not going to lie, I would fucking devour kebab pizza.
>>
>>66590038
Why not though, and this might be a culture shock, instead of making 3 PBJs just make 2 with jelly and 1 with peanutbutter
>>
>>66590376

OK, I don't have any idea.

I would send my kids to school with money for a hot lunch. It that was not availlable I would send them to school with leftovers, because we cook and eat healthy. Failing that, they'd have something healthier than a PBJ. It's candy food.

I was raised in a large family. We cooked big, but also ate big. The boys would fight over the leftovers. We are all most definitely not picky eaters today.

t.black
>>
>>66590128
Wasn't saying they didn't.

I was talking about the lunch programs which provided funding for the cafeterias being cut/reduced. Without as much funding the cafeterias got more expensive and were serving shittier food. Which among other things made people start packing lunches.
>>
>>66591279
I think what you're complaining about is privatization, where school districts just pay Sysco to send them mass-produced frozen garbage to reheat and serve.

It's easy to make, and sweet enough for the tastebuds of children.

Bearnaise is butter

>>

I dont mind peanut butter and jam sandwiches , though i agree nutella or honey with peanut butter is alot nicer

None are exactly healthy though and I deffinetly wouldn't give any of them to my kids for lunch every day
>>
>>66591362
School lunch privatization is shit since its all processed garbage, but my point centers on people being cheap and lazy and the funding cuts making school lunches more expensive.
>>
>>66592189
Ohh I agree, it takes a special level of stupidity to go from the healthy (but yeah bland) food we had to the shit we have now.

But as >>66592414 said, it's not really a healthy choice when you can make much better sandwiches or meals for your kids.

I started using peanut butter earlier this month when I discovered it's just squashed peanuts with no added sugar or actual butter even though it's a Murican thing. I just mix it in random foods, like today I made chicken and rice and put a big ol' scoop in there. It was buh-reddy good :D Sucks dick on sandwiches though.
