Some people do, but not traditionally.

In agricultural times we had to stop at noon to escape the 40º heat in the sun, so we took a one or two hour break to lunch (the southern Spaniards even nap because they have the most aggressive heat there).

So instead of having a big breakfast, going to work at 9, have a sandwhich for lunch, and a big dinner at 6, Meds typically went to work at 8 with a small breakfast, have a large lunch and dine at 8.

Roughly speaking, that is. That's why even our most caloric breakfasts are sugary or high in carbs, because they are meant to be eaten fast and are only meant to sustain you up until lunch.

I only drink coffee because I'm too used to not eating anything in the morning, I used to have biscuits and milk, sometime I eat the thing in OP's pic.

I think majority of people in Italy drinks milk and eats some sweets or yogurt with cereal and stuff like that, salty breakfast is a kraut thing.

Med diaspora (Sure it's France, but you can see the Mediterranean from my Grandfather's house). I always had breakfast. These days it's usually espresso and a croissant. Any days off though, few and far between as they are, my kitchen gets pillaged and raped. Nothing is off limits, and if I start to go overboard, I call up my neighbours and feed them too.
