but yeah the standard cuts are hugely different in america and ireland. in ireland bacon/rashers is mostly back bacon, while stomach bacon is referred to as streaky bacon. compared to america where bacon refers to stomach bacon and back bacon has to be referred to seperately.

Shame usually. People get ultra aggressive when you bring up the fact they can't speak it. Only a handful of people actually think we should get rid of it, the rest (even if they can't speak a lick of it) are rampantly nationalist about it

Not with other Irish people but whenever you see foreigners and they ask about it, yes.

I will say, however, many more people are getting involved in learning the language - parents now encourage their children to speak it instead of reprimanding them if they do.
