Get this: South Park isn't really a town in Colorado! It's a fairly large, open area (a park) with a few small towns. I don't think accuracy is what they aim for, and the scandi butthurt ITT over the sloppy portrayal of Denmark only makes the show funnier.

The point is that few Americans know anything about Denmark. Thus anything absurd and nonsensical is going to appear to Americans as "yep that's Denmark". The more absurd and nonsensical it is, the funnier it is. We don't know much about Denmark but we do know they're normal people, but in South Park they just appear as these absurd nonsensical people who dance to catchy odd sounding songs in commercials and slay trolls except not real trolls but internet trolls.
