Right now I'm reading "Silence" by Shūsaku Endō. It's about Portuguese Jesuits coming to Japan afterthe expulsion of all missionaries and the Sakoku policy was put into place.
It's very good.

I quite like it, it is between a chronicle, biographies, nice style too
