Yes. The ancient, high achieving Greeks were Nordic looking Indo-Europeans from the northern steppes and almost as white as ancient Finns.

Over time they failed to maintain a racial caste system and interbred with the brown races, creating the race now known as Greeks who do have some ancient Greek blood but it is not the main contribution to their gene pool.
