Is fella an English or American word and who says fella?

I use fella but I think it is a regional thing. I live in the north of England.
Americans say fella sometimes, though it is not especially common to hear.
Also, Upper Midwestern accent is cancer.
California here
I say it sometimes, it adds kind of a silly/lighthearted tone to the statement because it's uncommon and kind of old (I picture people using it more in the 40's)
"He's a nice guy" = 99% of the time
"He's a nice fella" = 1% of the time
also people sing this song sometimes when you want to congradulate someone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8n-PDVYgu4
some like it hot is a great movie btw

What are some of the weird ones here like? Ozark? Gullah?
Also the American accent meme is a meme, they mostly sound the same. Had a friend tell me they had a thick Philadelphia accent but it was literally the same as any other yank not from Boston or New York

fella is an archaic word. Rarely anyone says it anymore.

I know you're going to laugh and post the cuck programme but we still call people Good Fellas and call a girls bf "Fella"

Never heard it in the Milwaukee area besides my grandparents.

that is the worst american dialect map ever
florida is totally wrong for starters, as they don't even have a southern accent.
people in minnesota and that part of the country sound considerably different from people in ohio
the examples keep going on and on, while meanwhile they add in meme examples that only account for a neglible amount of the total population, like gullah or ozark

Well you can tell the second one they're putting it on. Literally reverting to standard fare accidentally halfway through, and that last one is just standard Appalachian isn't it?
First one could be legit or he could just be retarded, there seems to be little ways of knowing with Americans.
