They buy a live carp and keep it in their bathtub to kill it and eat it on Christmas Eve. Apparently this started because during the communist era, fish supplies were erratic so they couldn't just buy a carp on Christmas Eve, so people started buying fish before Christmas Eve and keeping them in their bath tubs for Christmas Eve.

It's rooted deep within us, we do a lot of things according to our culture and tradition without even knowing it.

We cherish our culture, we love our food, we enjoy talking about glory days of our ancestors, we have hatred rooted deep within us for our even oldest of enemies.

Everything from the way we act, think, eat, dress in, watch, say is partially influenced by our culture and even though it sometimes can be a bad thing we cherish it because it's old, and ours.
