3 are textbooks and 1 is an autographed book

I've managed to fit 54 books on my bookshelf, and it's completely filled.
>>
A lot.
I have a log of around 40GB of books to get to.

>>
>>66299129
Wew, better than average. What's your best poetry book?
>>
>>66299172
No, the enlightened thing to say is "I have 40 GB of books" or "who needs books when I have Google?"
>>
five (five)
>>
>>66299293
lol

Hoarding digital books is to some extent a problem.
>>
>>66298757
I don't know but I use the library most of the time
>>
>>66299232
by your, do you mean turkey, or what i own?
turkey: nesimi's divan (tho he didn't even live in anatolia, but it's turkish)
what i own: çile (necip fazıl) or cahit sıtkı's collected poems.

i want to buy nesimi's divan but i want a genuine handwritten divan, and they are hard to find. I found one for 100 dollars, might buy that
>>
>>66299420
I'm beginning to have this problem since I acquired an e-reader desu.
>>
40-50
>>
>>66299620
I was talking about your collection. Thanks for the references by the way; we know pretty much nothing about Turkish poetry here.
>>
>>66299641
Usually what I do is have two folders, one for curiosities and research, the other for recreational reading. Devote a comfortable amount of time to one book. If you do not like the book, dispose it. This is my technique, you can devise your own.
>>
>>66299620
>a genuine handwritten divan
As in, one of those lofty frames people hang in their living rooms?
>>
>>66299766
eh, that's normal i guess. why would you? world just follows the politically dominant people in all other aspects too.
fun fact: necip fazıl lived in paris for some time, and wrote some of his important poems there. he lived a life of gambling and vagabondry. then, he "repented", turned to turkey and fully embraced islam. he is a retarded muslim but he can write damn well.
>>66299876
no, a divan is basically a poetry collection of one poet. what is the "divan" you are talking about?
>>66299172
what is wrong with poetry books?
>>
A few hundred I guess. I never counted them.
I've got a bookcase in the bedroom and piles of books throughout the house.
>>
>>66300033
I know what a divan is. I just thought you meant how some of us Arabs hang small surahs in frames or skins, and that's what you want: a custom frame with Nesimi's divan.
>>
~50
>>
>>66298757
dunno, 200-300
>>
>>66300142
ohhh.. yeah, no.
btw, divan also means a specific kind of place to sit (some kind of couch) in turkish. is it the same in arabic?
>>
>>66300188
Yes, both meanings apply - but some divans are more like a small building used for family reunions.

i honestly have no idea. i have three bookshelves: one 1meter wide with 7 shelves, one 2meter wide with 8 shelves and one 1meter wide with 2 shelves. also, there are plastic bags in the attic filled with books and some of the books are just stacked under the table. i'm gonna go ahead and estimate around 1000 or more.

the people that come to 4chan from 1st world are actually "failures" more often than 3rd worlders, who are just escaping from their own internet or more broadly their culture.
any american can come to 4chan for example, but a turk would at least have to had a good english education
>>
>>66300442

that's probably already stretching your intellectual capacity to max

I think this explains why the stupidest posters are American as well.
>>
>>66300442
Well, but my books are pretty meme.
Half of them are philosophy and history (shitty wastes of time except for Camus and Kierkegaard) , and the other half is math, physics, german, music, art.
I regret buying so much memelosophy, such a waste of time.
>>
>>66300690
No, actually most of americans are stupid, not only losers
>>
>>66300527
Another thing you have to keep in mind is the urge to impress others.
>>
~200 probably
>>
I have no idea. Around 250 I'd roughly say

>>66298757
12 at the moment that I can find, and a lot of textbooks.

About 30 and then another 50 digital.

Read half of them in the last 2 years.

>how come thirdworlders own more books than first worlders?

I easily own more than 1,000 books (inb4 "France confirmed for third world country").
