When American parents kick their kids out of home at age 18,

We don't generally completely move out until we're done with College, at which point it's a polite parting as the child moves on to the adult world.

This, American society isn't very NEET-friendly.

I was told at the age of 12 that I had two choices: go to college on a scholarship, or get the fuck out of the house at 18.

I didn't get a scholarship, but I did get cheap education. After 2 years I was broke, but I got a job working night shift in a refinery. After a year they paid my tuition to finish my degree during the days. I rarely slept.

They paid for my BS. And then I applied to grad school and Title 17 paid for my MS. Booaya!

Typically for our 18th birthday we recieve alot of camping supplies, such as a tent and a partable stove, to use while we sleep on the streets until we can afford an apartment
