Within the next 5 to 10 years the US will be concurrently operating 4 of the most powerful rockets ever built.

The SLS, Falcon Heavy, New Glenn 3-stage, and Delta IV Heavy (currently in operation)

It will also have 3 capsules, 1 of which will be capable of deep space missions.

All of this is being supported by private American industry with American Federal government support.

I just watched another American company, Orbital Sciences, launch a rocket from the coast of Virginia. Literally from my window.

That's just some of the stuff going on with our space endeavours

Not much to say.

It's a rocket that can land it's first booster stage.

A result of a lot of research and hard work by NASA decades ago with the Delta Clipper.

But also a lot of courageous risk taking by Elon Musk and his engineers.

It will make launches more affordable because of reusability
