There's multiple sides to it, and some westerners have a warped view of the place.


Guess what? If you're a trashy person, and you go to Thailand, seek out the most trashy places, and do the most trashy things... guess what??

The place is going to seem trashy.
You can also go, do beautiful hikes, visit ancient ruins, cave temples, tropical waterfalls, pristine beaches, eat amazing food and drink cold beers in unpretentious little roadside restaurants, and meet decent friendly ordinary folks.
I find the sort of experience that westerners have in Thailand says more about *them* than it does about the country.
