This thing is about 800+ years old, made slightly more impressive given that it's a wooden structure I guess, but pretty mundane (Christianity wasn't fully established here until the 1300s or so, so it makes sense I suppose).

No, but seriously, the US has some really nice churches and cathedrals considering they can't really be that old. Some of the catholic ones on the east coast are especially nice.
