Iraq was Muslim before 9/11. France joined the coalition to bomb Iraq -- a country that literally had no affiliation with the attacks -- after they occurred.

France, as a country, has not been a pacifist watcher. They have been very much involved in the Iraq scene since 2003, and it is the foreign policy of the governments that put the citizens at risk.

Either way, let's not forget about all the Iraqi civilians who died in the invasion, either.
